This is a great way to stay connected, especially with events happening at the library. Hopefully it will catch on and Shawnessy will get more followers. I didn't even know the twitter site for Shawnessy existed.

LIBRARYTHING - MAY 17, 2010

LibraryThing is very user-friendly. It looks like a great tool to keep track of books you've read. I am forever writing lists. Why not save paper instead!

ONLINE PRODUCTIVITY TOOLS - MAY 10

I looked more in depth at Google docs. I don't think that I would ever use it because I have a computer at home with software on it already. I can see Google docs as a great tool for those who have no computer at home or someone who doesn't want to use up space on their hard drive for their documents and have the capability to save online.

The online calendar I would never use. I don't want to turn on the computer to check my calendar all the time. I'd rather have it in my hands to look at it. That being said, if I had an ipod, maybe then I would do the online calendar, saving paper and ink all at the same time.

FLICKR & YOUTUBE - MAY 3 ASSIGNMENT

I have used youtube alot and find it very user-friendly. We use it at home for homeschooled kids. There's lots of information on there for them to learn how to use their calculators. Very helpful! Flickr I have never used, but it seems easy enough.

RSS - APRIL 26, 2010

I was able to set up an RSS feed. You need to be in your bloglines account in order for it to go to your account, otherwise it just goes to the main page under the star thingy. (favorites I guess). It does make information gathering faster, because it's always ready for you. I really don't know how often I would use it though. I will show my husband. I'm sure it's something he would use.

GOOGLE UNIVERSE - APRIL 19 ASSIGNMENT

Google has a lots of goodies to offer. I like the google talk which allows you to voice chat from your desktop. I have skype and it looks like it works pretty much the same. I would recommend it to anyone who calls long distance especially. Why pay for something you can get for free.

Social Networking - April 12 Assignment

I am already on Facebook, but never go on. I never have the time to sit and socialize that way. I think it's a waste of my time. My husband on the other hand is on it all the time and myspace as well. His type of business revolves on being social...that's the nature of the music business.

WIKIPEDIA - APRIL 5 ASSIGNMENT

I like to use Wikipedia as the starting tool for research. I use the links that are embedded in the text. I don't use it as a reference tool because anyone can edit it. I didn't see anything for spelling or grammatical errors to edit on my cruise through Wikipedia this time.

Delicious - March 29 assignment

I am fairly comfortable in using Best Websites although I should use it more often to keep myself familiar with its features.

I can't think of any tips for using Delicious.

From CPL 2.0 I hope to learn new things that will help me keep up to my kids on the computer and be able to answer customer's questions that they may have.
